M 100 Acre Woods First Birthday Cake Smash

Even though cake smash sessions are my absolute favorite to do they can be challenging if the same theme is picked several times. I try my hardest not to do repeats and typically, every year I receive the same request from at least two or three people . This could be from a recent popular movie or TV show but for the most part, the classics pull through and one of the. One of the most reoccurring birthday party themes we see here is Winnie the Pooh!

I absolutely love seeing a classic from my own childhood withstand the test of time. I've seen Winnie the Pooh use for baby showers, birthdays, nurseries and still somehow it never gets old!

I went into this Cake Smash with very high expectations for you see, sweet Baby M is an Eater. There’s nothing she won’t eat. Her Mom is Laotian and her Dad a Southerner so she has the best of both worlds, whether it be actual food, fist sized objects, or sometimes the floor, she’ll try it. Despite this, I guess she just wasn’t feeling it today! Even though her session only lasted about 3 minutes we still managed to get some adorable shots before the meltdown!

V Pizza Smash First Birthday (Slice Slice Baby)

It’s no secret that Cake Smash Photos are my absolute favorite. Like, if I was told I could only do Birthday photos and nothing else, I would be okay with it. I never get tired of creating custom sets for little ones and over the years I’ve gotten relatively good at making birthday cakes, HOWEVER…

More times than not, babies actually will not touch their birthday cake, or parents don’t just want their kids to have a monumental amount of sugar in one sitting. Typically we have to improvise and smash the cake ourselves or rub a little bit of icing on their face to appear like they have been eating it.

I’ve always offered alternative options and have always wanted to explore so many alternatives and fortunate for me, Mama M was more than willing to allow me to get the best of both worlds! Baby V was blessed with the privilege of having his cake and eating it to! With Fat Pappys pizza, a delicious restaurant right across from the studio, we had the most perfect cheese pizza for our Italian themed Pizza Party!

It was so good, we had to pull the pizza away from him, much to his dismay. The only way we avoided a full blown meltdown was replacing it with cake! Needless to say, ever since the session V has never had an issue visiting us at the studio! I'm glad one of his first experiences with us was so positive!

Construction Party First Birthday Cake Smash

I heard a saying about little boys a while back that by the age of four they would either be obsessed with Space, Dinosaurs, Trains or Big Trucks and working in the Cake Smash and Birthday party industry a statement has never been truer!

Baby C’s construction themed Birthday Party was exactly what I expected it to be. Messy.

As a completely feral and range free Baby, I spends most his days outside with his Mama playing in the dirt and tending to their farm animals. Needless to say he was no stranger to getting down and dirty. His poor cake never stood a chance.

Bluey First Birthday Cake Smash

Even though these Cake Smash photos are from a while back now, I was originally worried that I missed showcasing them to all the Bluey Fans because of how quickly popularity in shows and movies come and go now a days. Fortunate for me, Bluey is still wildly popular, as it should be, and is still a requested theme two years later!

Admittedly I haven’t been a huge fan of a lot of recent cartoons that kids watch now a days (they’re far too fast passed, noisy and busy) Bluey is one of the rare few that I would closely compare to the cartoons we had growing up! Plus, the lessons and deeper meaning in all the episodes is so relatable and at times heart wrenching. I didn’t think a show about talking Dogs that wasn’t homeward bound would make me cry!

I was over the moon when this family requested the theme, especially considering I had just finished painting my Heelers Car! It was such a fun and easy set to put together. I’ve done several Bluey Cake Smashes and been to several Bluey Birthday Partys since then and there’s so many fun elements from the show you can incorporate in that I’ve never had difficulty putting creating something! Also, how Darling is this Bluey Dress?

Fortunate for me, little lady loved her Bluey Cake and was nothing but smiles for her photos! I can’t wait to share other Bluey themed photos and I’m so happy to finally be able to share some of my most colorful and loved Cake Smash sets with everyone! Big thanks to Mom, Dad and of course Baby girl for making the drive all the way to Nashville for this Cake Smash photoshoot!
